2,300-Acre Property in Goose Creek Acquired by Daniel Island Company

Plans for a Mixed-Use Community Present
a ‘Smart Growth’ Opportunity for Berkeley County

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Daniel Island Company has acquired a 2,300-acre tract of land in Goose Creek that includes the Carnes Crossroads intersection and is developing a master plan for a mixed-use community for this growing area of Berkeley County. The company will begin pre-development activities this year and anticipates active development to begin in 2007.

A former timber tract, the property is located at the intersection of highways 17A and 176 – an important center for growth in Berkeley County – and includes four miles of prime commercial frontage.  It has the potential to develop into a significant commercial and residential center for the city.
