The streets of Carnes Crossroads will come alive with music, entertainment, food and more on April 28, 2013 at a Street Party at the Village Green, a Grand Opening Celebration of Carnes Crossroads. Hosted by Carnes Crossroads Real Estate, the event takes place from noon to 5:00 pm at the Village Green on Wodin Place and 1st Avenue, off North Main Street (US 17A) in Goose Creek.

Food trucks from Ted’s Butcherblock and The Daniel Island Grille will be on hand selling an assortment of tasty sandwiches, hot dogs, barbecue and more, and complimentary Italian Ice and Kettle Corn will be available while they last. Daniel Island will help celebrate the grand opening of its newest park this fall at its popular annual fall festival, Park Day, on Saturday, November 3, 2012. A fall traditional in the Lowcountry, Park Day is a day of outdoor family fun for all ages that showcases and supports a diverse range of local charitable organizations. Former City of Charleston administrator Jane Baker recently left her post as the Deputy Director of Planning, Preservation and Sustainability, and Special Projects Manager for Mayor Joe Riley, to oversee community services and operations at the Daniel Island Property Owner’s Association. As the new Vice President of Community Services, Baker will oversee all day-to-day operations for the three separate residential and commercial property owners’ associations on Daniel Island. The position was previously held by Jimmy Bailey, who left in May to take a position with the Kiawah Island Community Association.

The contest runs March 28 – May 1 and will be open to all ages.
