CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Daniel Island Real Estate's new website, www.danielisland.com, has been recognized as an 'Outstanding Web Site' within the real estate industry by the Web Marketing Association's 12th Annual WebAwards. The WebAwards acknowledge the best websites in a multitude of industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website developments. Judges take into consideration seven criteria while reviewing entries, including design, innovation, technology, interactivity and ease of use. The 'Outstanding Web Site' award recognizes work above and beyond the standard of excellence within an industry.

Daniel Island Real Estate, the definitive expert and market leader for residential property in Charleston's “island town”, launched www.danielisland.com in April 2008. The website features new tools designed to make searching for information and properties on Daniel Island easier for potential homebuyers and visitors. The marketing team at the Daniel Island Company combined in-house resources with the work of several outside agencies to create a site that is easy to navigate and focuses on the Daniel Island lifestyle. Custom applications, including a Homefinder search tool and iMap with search capabilities, allow visitors to easily locate available homes, homesites, townhomes and condominiums with specific search criteria. Other user-friendly tools include events and news listings, video and RSS feeds.

Since the launch of phase one in April, the site has welcomed more than 80,000 visitors. In the coming months, Danielisland.com will introduce more online tools, improvements to the iMap and other features to enhance visitors' online experience.
